Hinds Hospice remains dedicated to promoting Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) in every aspect of our work. Our commitment to these principles extends to our efforts to better serve the LGBTQ+ community, particularly our elderly clients. As part of this ongoing commitment, we have introduced a comprehensive training program focused on enhancing cultural competence and understanding the unique needs of LGBTQ+ seniors.

This training covers essential topics, including key LGBTQ+ terminology, the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ older adults, and best practices for providing affirming and inclusive care. We recognize that aging can be especially challenging for LGBTQ+ individuals due to past experiences with discrimination or isolation. By equipping our staff with the tools and knowledge needed to provide compassionate, culturally aware care, we aim to create an environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported.
