A Message from Hinds Hospice CEO, Eric Klimes
Dear Friends of Hinds Hospice, thank you for your ongoing support during this unique time. Our focus, as always, is on living our mission to ease suffering for patients and their families. We will continue to serve our community throughout this pandemic thanks to our dedicated staff, committed leadership, and you. Although many things have changed recently, the need for quality hospice care has not, and we continue to provide much needed support to the nearly 350 patients we care for every day.
Hospice & Palliative Care Services
We continue to see our hospice and palliative care patients and, as usual, we are also available by phone 24/7. Many residential facilities are limiting visits, however, we are working with each facility to meet our patients’ needs in a timely manner and strive to provide exceptional care in all circumstances.
We are accepting new patients eligible for hospice services. Our admissions team is available 7 days a week to serve all of Fresno, Madera and Merced counties. If you would like to speak with someone regarding new patient admissions or referrals to Hinds Hospice, please call (559) 317-6010.
Upcoming Events
As part of our commitment to the safety of our community, we have made changes to our upcoming events:
Safety for our patients and staff
During this challenging time, we as an agency have come together for our patients, their families, and our community.
We are doing everything in our power to ensure the safety of our patients, families, and caregivers. We are meeting, and in some cases exceeding, all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and the Health Departments in Fresno, Madera and Merced Counties.
How you can help
While Hinds Hospice currently has an appropriate inventory of supplies, we are experiencing a national shortage of personal protective supplies. If you are inspired to help today, here are some impactful and meaningful ways you can make a difference:
To everyone sheltering in place, observing hand washing recommendations, and keeping a safe social distance, thank you for all you are doing to keep our community safe. Keep up the good work and we will get through this together.
With deepest appreciation,
Eric Klimes, MBA

As part of our commitment to the safety of our community, we have made changes to our upcoming events:
- The Hinds Guild of Hope Noon Tea fundraiser has been rescheduled to October 9, 2020.
- The 16th Annual Angel Babies Walk Run has been changed to a virtual event on April 18, and a family gathering in October. For those who have ordered Angel Baby Markers, they will be available for pickup when we receive the markers.
- The Fresno Survivors of Suicide Loss Moms to Moms Luncheon will be rescheduled on a later date.
- The Granville Home of Hope grand prize drawing has been postponed. Your ticket is still valid, and we will continue selling tickets until they are sold out. Every ticket that has been purchased to date will be entered into the Granville Home of Hope Drawing. If you bought a bundled ticket, you will also be entered into the Lexus Drawing. We hope you will continue to support these special events on the rescheduled dates.

While Hinds Hospice currently has an appropriate inventory of supplies, we are experiencing a national shortage of personal protective supplies. If you are inspired to help today, here are some impactful and meaningful ways you can make a difference:
- Make a gift. Click here, and make a one-time or recurring gift to help us care for patients and families.
- Donate supplies. While we have what we need to care for our staff and patients today, the national shortage of supplies could leave us in need. We are gathering medical personal protective equipment, such as disposable face masks, gloves, and gowns. If you have access to any of these items and are able to donate, please call (559) 317-6038.
To everyone sheltering in place, observing hand washing recommendations, and keeping a safe social distance, thank you for all you are doing to keep our community safe. Keep up the good work and we will get through this together.
