History

We at Hinds Hospice have always had a special respect for our Veterans that we serve at the end of their lives. Only in providing this care have we been made aware of the unique needs our Veterans and their families have. Fresno has been blessed with having a VA Hospital that advocates for patient care rights. The We Honor Veterans program has provided Hinds Hospice staff resources and understanding we have never had before. This special training has allowed Hinds to provide the very best in end-of-life care for our Veteran patients, including rural and homeless Veterans in Fresno, Madera, and Merced.

Veterans have a hospice care benefit.

Veterans may be eligible for hospice care as part of the basic eligibility package for veterans enrolled in the Veterans Health Administration. Hinds Hospice services are also covered by Medicare, MediCal, most HMO and private insurance plans.

We Honor Veterans

America's Veterans have done everything asked of them in their mission to serve our country and it is never too late to give them a heroes welcome home. Hinds Hospice staff provides the last opportunity for Veterans to feel that their service was not in vain, and that they are appreciated.

We have taken an oath to honor and recognize the Veterans we are privileged to serve, because it is the right thing to do for those that have served us.
