Nancy Hinds began caring
for terminally ill patients experiencing their end-of-life journey in her own home
back in 1981. The current Hospice Home, located on Twain
Avenue in Fresno, opened its doors in 1987 and has served over 3,300 patients. On a quiet street surrounded by beautiful gardens, the Hinds Hospice Home is a welcoming environment to receive loving, around-the-clock, end-of-life care. Admission to the Hinds Hospice Home can occur when a patient requires a higher level of care than can be provided in their own home environment.
The home is equipped to care for up to six patients at any one time and is the only inpatient hospice home in Fresno, Madera and Merced counties. Families, friends and pets are encouraged to visit. Children may use the children's playroom and are welcomed to visit their loved one. The chapel is available for private meditation. The Hinds Hospice Home offers patients and their families a peaceful, serene environment. Care is provided by a team of highly skilled hospice care professionals. The goal of the Hospice Care Team is to provide respectful and dignified physical, emotional and spiritual support to all patients and their families.

"I just wanted you to know how very grateful I am for all your exceptional staff of nurses and counselors who comforted and cared for my mother and our family. But the thanks do not stop there. I want to also thank the special group of volunteers I encountered during those weeks I spent with my mohter, and tell you how comforting it was to be in a home setting as opposed to a hospital setting with staff who truly cares about a person's feelings and dignity."
